    What you on ?

What do you consider high mileage on various size bikes?

I'm buying a bandit 600 soon, about 10 years, Im thinking 35,000 miles is probably low enough for the years?

FZ1 2006. Has 41000Miles/67000km on it. Not high considering the year.
Unlike Bladespins who's bikes hardly broken in !! :D

    05 sv650s with 76,000 km or so.
If it's been maintained properly, I don't think that sort of mileage is any issue

2010 Suzuki GSX1250 currently less then 16,000kms. Bought it up north last year with 4,100kms on it still on original BT20/21 tyres on it cant remember which. Absolute minter she was, did not really intend buying it went up for a look but was so clean and well looked after I had to buy it. Its as close to a new bike you could have gotten without buying one.

In relation to buying a bike I would take looks and service history over mileage. A well maintained bike with high miles is no bike deal, where as a bike thats neglected with low mileage would break your heart.

2012 1199 Panigale is at 16000km and 2015 1290 Superduke just turned 11500 (4300 done since April on just spins/no commuting).
I don't understand 10 year old bikes with 2500km, the main thing is how something has been used and maintained

99 Hornet 250 (Should actually be 01, someone mucked up the registration) with 46,000km. She came with full service history since her import and she has been well looked after. Beast of a little bike, and incredibly reliable too.

03 Fazer 600, odo stuck around 50k miles. Probably has well over 100k miles at this stage, don't know for sure but I can wok it out based on my commute etc. I think modern bikes can do 200k+ with regular maintenance.

    2017 s1000rr

Only have it 4 months and I've put 3,500 kms on it already.

Last bike was 2012 KTM RC8R, 25,000kms on it when I traded it in.

I don't understand how bikes can be 5 years old and only have 5000kms on them.
Like a good spin roubd wicklow could be anywhere from between 100 to 200kms. Are you seriously expecting me to believe that someone is only getting out for a spin on their bike 5 to 8 times a year for the last five years!?

    C'mon...

Haha, I queried the VIN with david silver spares and the model number, its the CB250F1 which was manufactured in 2001.

But yeah.. Trying to get that changed would probably take a lifetime...

08 Hornet with 96,000kms on it, it had 10,000kms on it when I bought it around 2 years ago. Bike only, 365 days of the year.

High mileage wouldn't put me off a bike straight away, more concerned about the condition of the bike.

03 Bandit bought up north in 2011 with 8700 miles on it. Owned by a mature rider from new and mint except for the rear tyre that had a wear flat about three inches wide on it. Now has 24000 miles trouble free and well cared for. I reckon it's good for twice that mileage again. I'm only a fair weather rider. You'd wonder at some bikes that are advertised with 20000 km and ten or twelve years old.

My sv is for sale and just had someone txt and ask me........

"Any bad points apart from the high mileage"

    She's 2005 There's 23000 miles on it!!!

😲With that kind of text you should probably make them aware that the bike is also susceptible to the laws of physics .... you'll never shift it 😂

I know they have a reputation on reliability but that's stretching it a bit. :-)

I'd be dubious but there's always the 'toy' factor with bikes like Ducatis, someone not short of a bob buys one on a whim pretty much to look nice in the garage.
