In Westport next week on Holidays, anyone recommend any good routes (60-80K)? Hills or scenic. I know its all good but a little local knowledge is always good.

If you go Newport, Glenhest, head straight for Bofeenaun but instead of going left into the village turn right for Castlebar, big climb across the windy gap and then downhill all the way to Castlebar, back to westport, should be just over 60k. Both scenic and thats a decent hill

Alternatively head out for Louisburgh, Delphi, head in the direction of Leenaun but when you hit that road go left back for Westport instead of south towards Leenaun and Galway. Very scenic route, as nice a cycle as you could get. 75k

Louisburgh to Sheefry in this route is beautiful.

I did a leg of an extended Mizen to Malin from Westport to Sligo and the road from Newport along Lough Feeagh and up through Nephin Beag was stunning. You could loop back into Castlebar or Westport.

The cycle route on the Westport Sea2Summit race is a nice route - the Maum will test the legs for you!

If you go Louisburgh direction from Westport, maybe veer off to do the Maum on your way back.

Seconded. this is a great route with spectacular scenery and a nice mixture of flat and climbing. Sheefrey pass will challenge the lungs a bit.

If you want a straight forward, not too hilly, but scenic 70km, try this

Starting and finishing in Westport probably brings it closer to 80k. ... I see it's the same route as the second suggestion in post #2

Here's one I did in May. Lovely spin and great scenery and roads. Mostly quiet and avoiding main roads plus it takes on the Sheffrey pass which is spectacular! Enjoy.

The Greenway out to Achill would be worth considering.
