First off this is not a medical condition and I don't require medical advice.

Anyways... having coached a group of newbies for 3 months at 25kmph avg I'm now back to normalish spins and over the last 4 weeks of spins of 60 km+ @ 33/35 kmph avg I'm cramping in the calf area when I try to push on.
Any thoughts on an excercise to get shut of this , and get up to speed again without cramps?
    Thoughts and input appreciated.

As per greenspurs and my personal experience it's lack of minerals replacement that come with our favourite electrolyte drinks. It sorted my cramps under similar conditions.

I had this before and it was due to a subtle movement in my cleats, meant I was putting more strain on my calf.

    So I guess

    - hydration
    - cleat/saddle position

Also if you look at this analysis, we don't engage the calfs as much in a pedal revolution so maybe your setup is an issue and you're over-engaging?!
