Have you tried it with no gloves/non-padded gloves? For me padded gloves cause numbness, they just cause pressure in the wrong spot.

I get numb hands the very odd time but in summer when I don’t wear gloves or mitts I never do. I blame the gloves for (Castelli Arundel) for creating pressure at certain spots.

I have Zipp CX bar tape which is thick and very comfy so I don’t need well padded gloves but I was given them as a present and I like them but when at all possible I don’t wear anything on my hands.

If you change your bar tape to thicker tape and get mitts with minimal or no padding you may find a difference.

Purely based on personal experience this summer when I started cycling - right hand starts going numb and then after a few weeks it got worse - wrist pain for days after a long ride. Also the elbow and arm. I spoke to my GP, she hinted at RSI (software engineer for last 20 years), bike fit etc. I rotated the bar up a bit, started wearing gel padded gloves, and frequently changed position and the problem went away. Did couple of 200k+ ride, which apart from hurting everywhere, didn't hurt wrists any more than other parts of the body. Just my 2c worth.

You started cycling in the summer and already have a couple of 200k plus rides under your belt? Fair play chief, I've still not gone above 140.

Cheers, it sounds more impressive than it really is - I started March/April which is good bit before summer, and my average speed is still only around 20-21 kmph, and yes I did couple of long rides (again, exactly two long rides) - both was all-day slow-and-stead-but-keep-at-it with plenty of fuel stops type affair. Not much between 140k and 200k - if you can do 100k, you can do 200k. And 300k. I hope to get back into cycling next year.

I recently moved from the normal padded gloves with the padding focused around the outside of the hand to Specialized Grail gloves. The padding here is centred on the palm with the idea of distributing the load more evenly. I have to say they've made a huge difference.
