Car insurance without no claims bonus

I have been in the USA for the past 3 yrs but am back in Ireland now. My no claims had expired and I am struggling to find reasonable insurance. Does anyone have any advice? Am aware I'll be paying 2K but 3K is extortionate. Prefer to not be driving a 0.9L at this stage in my life. Thanks
