Sick of this baby stuff. Do people behave like this in real life?

Yes if one works with a large group of ladies.

  • Registered Users Posts: 840 ✭✭✭laylag

This trying to conceive stuff is mad. It's been one month!! Nobody would be carrying on like that.

Miriam must have no life. Able to run the arcade, group therapy, skill sharing workshops and one to one counselling sessions! Also random counselling on the street with whomever she encounters. And free of charge to boot.

I feel sorry for Kerri Anne. I think she is suffering from depression or a similar debility which is not nice to see anyone suffer with.

    Bad move Robbie.

Not riveting but not a bad episode either.

Please stop the Bob\Pete Punch and Judy show.

This Kerri Anne story is making me mad. They've been trying one month!! I think it makes a mockery out of the poor women who have been trying alot longer than that. One fcuking month!!!

Sit down relax yourself Kerri Anne.....let ur husband buy u flowers.....give me strength.

Us women are alot tougher than that.

Kerri Anne needs to have a chat with Miriam!

Honestly do not know how RTE missed this, what does that sound like he's saying to everyone?

I'm new here and I am very interested in FC.

Just a question, will there be any hour-long episodes involving g Trigger soon?

Something similar to the wedding episode last year.

    Willkommen Hector! That's 3 of us recently/

To your query, i would not think so. Though 1 hr shows have been on for fires etc. Some senior posters will help with query.

So......is Pete working in the Community Centre? For like money? Or why would he be doing it or have the time?

Where does Oisin live? Whys he sniffing around C Town? Centre of the Party Universe?

Sadly I don't think the groups will be a cult, just a crap vehicle for crap storylines.

Jenny Dixon fair play to her is topping the charts for worst actor on Fair City.

Nora has made a speedy character 180 even by FC standards. Once a hard nosed independent woman who won't take sh1t from anyone not even master criminal Spillane. Now she's fawning over Trigger who pimped out his daughter when she was a CHILD!!! FFS!

What job are Pete/Bob vying for?

Why does Charlie talk like that?

Kerrianne going mental after a couple of weeks trying to conceive is an insult to anyone who has ever struggled to have a baby. They are trying to highlight a real issue and f*cking it up!

How is Robbie's underage drinking charge still hanging about?

Any gear head worth his salt could get a bit of morphine in a few hours

I actually couldn't make out what was wrong with Kerri Ann tonight. As everyone is saying they're trying for a baby for a month and she seemed to be at nervous breakdown point.

As our German friend mentioned Jack is an insipid child. Strange there is never a word from Louis or mention of him.

The 'group' is seriously weird. If they were some type of support group meeting once a week, ok, but every day!

Between Ama and Miriam there's no shortage of busy body/counsellor types who pop up in everyone's business.

I found that hillarious. They forget big chunks of plots and whole characters and they remember that from Oisin setting up Callum with the ginger haired girl!

No offence but there is nothing in her behaviour to indicate depression. She is very highly strung at the best of times without adding hormones into the mix

Louis got a mention at Christmas. He had sent toys for Jack but Carol donated them to the toy appeal at the Community Centre. Nora accidentally gave Jack one of the toys and Carol flipped

Yes my friend that is true.

It was before she described the pain i said something of the mind. At times though she is a little bipolar..maybe? Hyper then these tearful spells? I don't think the soap are going down depression line but she is a little manic..

He's too healthy looking for a guy close to death. Pain would only be one problem (and would be easily manageable), he'd be T and barely able to walk a few few feet.

I remember when my uncle was dying. Two weeks prior to it. He wasn't able to get out of bed. How is Trigger able to get out and go around town? Not a bother on him. Miriam is giving me the creeps.

True. I had pneumonia and glandular fever in a 6 mth spell last year and i had no energy. Let alone morning meetings in the pub! Even your voice would be weakish. My dad died last year, aged 90, and needless to say how week he was.

Did Eamonn ask Bob if he remembered him when he came back this week?

Bobs memory is pretty good cause miraculously he did and it's a good couple of weeks (if that) since the guy worked for him.

How would Kerri Ann cope if she suffers a diagnosis of infertility or has to suffer a
miscarriage, even multiple miscarriages? Decco will need a lot of patience and strength to be married to Kerri ann!

Charlie could avoid a lot of hassle if he just gave the job to Eamonn instead of Bob or Pete.
After all, isn't Eamonn more in need of a job than the other 2.

And why is Bob looking for a job, sure he has a job already flipping burgers in the hungry pig.
Or perhaps he has a lot of spare time on his hands now that Rene seems to have dropped off the scene.

This creepy group thing is seriously weird! I don't get what it's supposed to be? Every day and it just seems to depress/annoy people even more than they already were! In the Sky info it said "Oisin tries to use Phoenix Way to win over Charlotte" - is that the name of the group,Phoenix Way??? I've never heard anyone call it that, just "the group"!! That just adds to the cringiness/creepiness if it is!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,420 ✭✭✭✭sligojoek

Maybe Phoenix way is about coming out of the ashes and flying high again. Or maybe it's the name of the mall.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 284 ✭✭De Bild

I do not think Fair City will have courage to go the route of the group being a cult as, i think, Wanderer said. It's just conduit for stories. It would be interesting to go the way of a cult. Novel.

Today in Ireland or Western Society it is not unusual to have cults. It could be modelled on Scientology, maybe? Miriam starts asking for members to pay contributions. She would collect feck all, as they say, in Carrigston!

I have a close friend here in Ireland who suffers with melancholy and he was recommended by psychiatrist to attend a group called GROW. He told me they read from a booklet and he did not feel comfortable in situation so he only attend one meeting. So it reminds me of Fair City group. Again GROW had a facilitator who tried to get the members to talk/participate.

What the group were discussing tonight was the "Law of Attraction" based on the book The Secret ie. the writing on the board was about letting things go, being grateful and what they would like to 'manifest'.

I can't figure out the group(s) at all though. It seems to be a bit of everything : personal development, skills sharing, law of attraction, self help. From the way Miriam is talking, it sounds like she has different classes on different days and with different things up for discussion (maybe the people change from class to class as well?).

I haven't seen a whole lot of FC lately but yeah, some of Cathals and Triggers lines are great! My favourite was (to Dan as he sat in his wheelchair threatening him) : "what are you going to do.....bite me in the bballs" !!

No it was a follow on from conversation i had about Fawlty Towers with sligojoe i had a few weeks ago. Joe said don't mention the war.

I said 'i have seen it' (Father Ted), like Fawlty Towers. I had seen both comedies :)

Cathal has great one liners. What grates with me is his facial expressions when playing the tough guy. He looks more like a whingey old farmer!

I often wonder do the actor's themselves have any input in the dialogue sometimes, in terms of the one liners. Some characters like Oisin, Heather, Cass, Bob and Cathal (and of course Trigger) .......and even Robbie the odd time, throw out some good ones. The odd one liners is great but needs to be backed up by good plots, reasonable behaviour and scenarios and plot pacing

I think they'd be afraid to question the **** they're giving, they'd be out on their ear, it's best for them to say nothing and for them and carry on reciting the scrip they're giving.

It doesn't seem like the actors and writers are working together, but how could the actors approach the writers if there's 36 of them.
