Engrossing descent. Scary hairy moments. Ag2r really taking the race to the breakaway and Peloton.

    Thomas abandones

Race Radio are now saying they're not sure about Herrada. Really, until a camera can confirm in/out, we will not know.

That descent is crazy anyway. I can understand the cameras not getting too close.

    Thomas out of the Tour
Geraint Thomas is in an ambulance, apparently suffering from a broken collarbone.

Bad news for Team Marginal Gains

Contador regaining contact with the Peloton. Just looks like he got held up with Thomas' crash, rather than falling himself and he had no rips or tears in his kit.

Poor Thomas has had terrible GT luck this year.

Contador with blood on his elbow. Tour wouldn't be the Tour without Contador getting some nick to his skin of some sort :p

    BMC guys losing touch

Was there a moto involved? Even if there wasn't this time, a moto will be blamed.

    Majka abandons

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

Bora not saying Majka has abandoned, but that he's in serious difficulty after his off. Chances are he'll be done soon enough.

Contador took a little sideways tumble there, possibly having hit Quintana's wheel.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Quintana should be careful, could get thrown out for that :o

Thomas out, Froome will be delighted, is something Kirby won't be saying

Jaysus, Contador has no luck in the Tour. Some of it self inflicted, but year after year there is an issue. His new team are pretty poor this year too.

CN saying roche has been dropped from the yellow jersey group

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Just switched on for a while is Dan with Froome group?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,016 ✭✭✭Itziger

So much for the long attack from Bertie/Porte........ All hangs on the last climb after all, unless there's action on the descent.

Matthews 8th over the colombier...some ride by him to get points at the upcoming sprint

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,425 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Porte has 3 team mates with him. Is Nico one of them?

EDIT: Pretty sure Nico is not there.

Kwiatkowski is earning his wages so far in this tour. He's been pulling along the peloton in the valleys for ages.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

Eurosport saying Demare has been cut loose at the back, and is expected to be taken by the broom wagon. His team mates are on their way back up the road.

Edit: Now saying he's just over Colombier, and has people with him. Some 36 minutes behind.

They updated there to say he's about 20km back just starting the descent but think he still does have people around him.
