Rather apt timing with the road graffiti for what some regard as a dick move by Aru :D :pac:

Balls to 'respect for the yellow jersey'. It's prissy and boring. Too many things can go wrong for anybody.

Maybe on the last stage, when it's all but wrapped up, but on a racing day like today...

It's kind of accepted in cycling that, especially on the climbs, the bike is secondary to the rider. The rider gets up the climb or not. If the yellow jersey looks like he's cracking, attack him. If his wheel falls off, give him a chance to get going again, then attack him.

What happened between Aru and Froome?

Froome stuck his hand up (suspected mechanical). Aru and Quintana cycled under his stuck up arm to go on the attack.

I think if you're going to against the unwritten rules you should at least nail your colours to the mast and make if known you won't play by them from the outset.

Did anyone else see Froome leaning into Aru around a hairpin shortly after the incident? Surprised the comms didn't mention it

    Somebody has finally killed Kirby

The problem with Aru's actions is not that he didn't sit up and wait for Froome, the issue is that he saw Froome had a problem, and chose to attack him at that moment. It simply comes across as cowardice and bad sportsmanship, and this is coming from someone who until 5 minutes ago would have loved to see Aru come in 5 minutes ahead of Froome today (now my opinion has changed). If the race was "on" as they say, nobody would wait, but it wasn't.

Thanks for the attacking racing Alberto. Doubt he'll resign for next year.

So much hype and hope for today and yet again a stage that fails to deliver really.

Dan has a great chance here if it goes to a sprint

Dan made sure he was 2nd over the top there, hedging his bets for a go at polkadot later on, if he loses time somewhere?
