Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Amazon and it won’t drop below this price in my opinion and if you wait too long it will be gone, they will only have a certain number at this price

Amazon.fr deal gone already by the looks of it. Back up to ~€180

What's the advantage of having a game controller?

It might be an obvious answer ;)

Apparently it works better as a remote than the actual remote but that's only from what I've read

There are some apps which perform better with a screen cursor I find, so the gamepad is used, at least in my place.

And personally, if I was in the market for one, id jump at £149 for the full kit. Great price and really cannot see it dropping much more. Not worth the risk IMO.

How does the game streaming from a PC compare to Steam Link?

Can it do higher resolutions for example?

Already have steam link and an Android TV so just wondering if it's worth buying or not.

No, remote and controller. It was one of the posts in this thread that alerted me to it. The offer didn't last long and it went up to €180 a while after I ordered.

Bought it for £160 around this time last year, it's £150 now on Amazon with game controller & remote or £130 with remote only.

Anyone know if currys.ie are going to match the price that their UK counterparts are selling this at? Have seen it on Hotukdeals at the amazon price in currys.co.uk but wondering if they'll do it here as well.

Ah I know it is, i don't really need it but if I could walk in to a shop come the weekend and pick one up then I could be persuaded.

Highly doubt it'll be that price in a B&M shop this side of the pond.

Why would you buy one of these over a PS4?

Is it more powerful, Ps4 ancient at this stage

As a media centre is the shield OS locked down like Amazon Fire or pure android?

    Curious what's the appeal

Android TV isn't that customisable. It's not locked down but you can side load apps that are not in the play store. There are no restrictions

This is a different type of console, you can't really compare it to Xbox or PlayStation. It plays Android games, runs lots of emulators and streams pc games both from your pc if you have a Nvidia graphics card (Gamestream) or using Steam and Uplay running on a Nvidia virtual machine (GeforceNow).

Google for a few reviews and videos

    £, not €
It has been that price since Monday. Definitely a great deal .

That's should be pounds, not euro for anyone looking. Still a decent deal.

Can’t you change the dns directly on the shield rather than use the hub

Must have another go at it tonight, but from memory, I think it had to be changed from within the hub, though it's so long ago, I'm not entirely sure.

I got caught by the stack social lifetime deal earlier in the year, so maybe that's where I'm being mixed up on.

Ya you can change it on the shield, just note down the details and then change it to static and change the DNS

I guess it will probably be on sale a load of times between now and February. Always on sale anyway.
