Just checked the forecast...looks like it's going to be a bit miserable. I'll be on the blue Planet X (probably looking miserable)

Will the other climbs be signposted as well?

Lough bray was signposted when i went past earlier

I'll probably be doubly miserable if the weather is bad. Managed an awesome faceplant on a dark country lane 2 days ago and so my face is swollen and cut - and making me miserable without even wearing my helmet or sweating like a pig. Promises to be a memorable spin all the same...

We do have similar Sign posts on all the major climbs around the route, and on a couple of smaller hills near the end, that will probably feel like major climbs by that stage!

Good luck today everyone! I'll be the one with the red spokes and the worried expression coming up to the hills.... :P

The Damp Dog certainly lived up to its reputation of being one tough sportive. Were there any flat bits other than a few km at either end? Great organisation as ever with the added signs this year including a few smart-ass ones. The burger and Mont beer went down in double quick time before dashing home to catch the second half of the match.

Great event. Everything brilliant, marshalling, start location, route, catering, welcome at the finish. I would offer constructive criticism if I thought it would help but there is nothing to be improved upon as far as I could tell. Well done to all involved. I got off the bike on Cunard last tear, felt like it beat me, this year I beat. the f........! Signs at base of climbs showing length, gradient etc were disheartening but great, as were signs of 'encouragement'!

That repugnant lake drive section at the end nearly killed me (as it usually does). Horrible piece of road - I'd rather do Cunard 3 times over.

Well done to all involved - especially the friendly marshals out for hours in that inclement weather.

Great day, despite having to arse around with a two broken spoke wheel at the top of glenmacnass. Still not sure am a peed off with the wheel for the broken spokes, or pleased with it that it held up and got me home!

Really loved the sandwichs and spread in annamoe. Beer in the fridge for after me and the bike are clean.

Ah the lake drive was just savage - normally I'd lap that up, but with 100km in the legs, it was just brutal. Each little hill felt like a 20% mountain.

Great day out - fantastic organisation - couldn't ask for more!

I almost went back to bed at 7.00am when i looked outside at the weather. Glad I didn't now. Never has a beer and burger tasted so good :)

First time doing this great event. Really enjoyed it but it is very tough, particularly the first half. That Cunard climb seemed never ending. Some hairy descents with the wet roads and low visibility around Luggala. Very well marshalled. Burger and beer at end were both great. Will be back.

Enjoyed myself today. It's been my favorite spin for the last two years and a good yardstick for me to see what kind of progress I'm making. The legs were well ripped off me going around the accursed Lakeshore drive but a group came by just as I was at my worst and i managed to hang on for a few km and got myself in better shape for the last blast back to the start.
Nice to see a few Boardsies there, you know who you are .
Really enjoyed the beer too. Could have done with a few more ðŸ˜

You must have been looking after yourself well over the summer. You've lost a few kilos since I saw you last! Well done - way too fast for us today. :)

Fair play all and the Cogs. This was the only other Sportive I was planning to do before the end of the year.

Glad to hear it's still going strong
