Storing cooked rice

What is the best and safest way to store cooked rice? I buy the packets that take 2 minutes in the microwave but since there are two servings I only eat half at one time so im looking to store the other half to eat the next day. Any advice?

Rice is a foodstuff that requires a lot of care when storing and reheating. Guidance from the NHS here.

Get it cool and into the fridge as quickly as possible and eat it the next day.
