Not sure how you've come to that view. If you go back over the last few seasons there has been a huge amount of U20's playing in the senior team. Last season Paul Boyle, Tadgh McElroy & Oisin Dowling from the Irish 20's all played senior rugby whilst Peter Hastie, Barry Fitzpatrick & Harry Brennan also played senior rugby. Ronan Kelleher has barely been available all season for selection. Peter Sullivan & Tom Roche have trained with the club for less than 6 weeks.

Fair point.. meant more that they don't rely on them..

how'd Kelleher get on yesterday? did he get through the game uninjured?
    No worries
Did very well when he came on and came through unscathed. Very good prospect for Leinster.

He is an excellent prospect, if he can stay healthy.

Obviously early days but would you rate him higher than McElroy? I probably would.

Yep, he is playing 8 again now. He's been brilliant all year.
Ye definitely and playing at a much higher level now which can only help. He's an impressive size for an 18 year old.

He has huge potential, hopefully that clontarf prop school can get him upto scratch at the art of being a front row.
We've a pretty good recent track record anyway!

Came on at HT I think. Went well in open play as always. Loughman did well against him in the scrum which was disappointing.

Was at Rock/Marys-two decent sides-standout players were Rock hooker McLauglin and Marys centre Carey-although the latter needs to learn how to pass as he tries to beat everyone on his own!
Who coaches Mary's & Rock Under 20s do you know? Was at Clontarf vs UCD game, a lot of the younger players stood out(Byrne, O'Sullivan, Foley).

    Impressions of UCD hooker?

    More impressive Byrne or O'Sullivan?

Is Ronan Foley involved with Irish 20s? He seems to be getting rave reviews.

Up to recently I don't believe so, heard he was good at the weekend alright.

With James French barely playing sp far this season, presumably due to injury we could be looking at all leinster front row:

    1. Jordan Duggan(Naas)
    2. Ronan Kelleher(Lansdowne)
    3. Jack Aungier(Marys)

Possibly Joe Byrne(DUFC) could challenge for either of the prop positions given how impressive he has been this season.

I'm sure the team will look very different come six nations. Dunne is a more natural openside.

Won't look much different bar injury IMO.
    Masterson could easily play 6.

It’ll be tough for him as both hookers ahead of him were capped last year

Very hard to know what backs will play where yet , mark Keane is someone who a lot of people forget he was capped last year and played for Ulster against babaas

There are definitely some great prospects in Ulster this year, but I'd have to agree that most will just miss out in a very competitive year group. Really hope our academy can get there act together soon, cause I really think a few of these boys are capable of playing for the senior side in the not too distant future.

I was comparing James Hume and Tommy O'Brien.

Stewart's experience might get him a game or two, but Hughie is potentially special and will out perform him and earn starting spot over a few games IMO.

It's an excellent forwards group, who given time should make an impact at senior.

Could be a big Blackrock representation in the squad again this year with Byrne , Dunne , Doris , Obrien , Roche and Charlie Ryan and Patterson if they both get back fit

    Patterson is back fit.

Ryan won't get into squad irregardless of health IMO, 2nd row too deep.

Strong representation always likely given how many JCT's they won in a row.

He was picked ahead of Dunne , mccusker for Irish schools 2 years ago and was due to captain them last year .. with squad likely to have 4-5 second rows he will be there at some stage

Big difference between now and then though, he hasn't played any rugby since school and IMO other 2nd rows have developed more and have experience of senior rugby.

2nd rows IMO will be Dunne, Dalton, Daly, Coffey & McCusker.

Maybe i'm wrong, Ryan will get healthy and start playing AIL for UCD and really impress.

Aaron Browne is another good 2nd row who is forgotten about due to injury, was starting in 1B last season for Old Wesley.

Maybe but regardless as seen in last 2 years not a chance of them all being fit all year with training camps, ail , A
    games, 6nations and Jwc

camp squads don't change much, only a limited number of players after all.

Comparative heights of the 2nd rows:

    Jack Dunne(DUFC): 6'7
    Charlie Ryan(UCD): 6'7
    Mattew Dalton(Malone): 6'6
    John McCusker(Rainey): 6'6
    Aaron Browne(Old Wesley): 6'6
    Ronan Coffey(Shannon): 6'5
    Cormac Daly(Clontarf): 6'5

What height are the Murray brothers? Niall and Darragh? Noticed Darragh made Ireland u18 club side, any idea if he is eligible again next season?
