Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Great effort Wesley

Really interested to see who Newbridge get now in the draw

Not sure they have been due credit for the thumping of Pres - could be dark horses

Gerards, Bridge, Roscrea, Clongowes and Marys all hoping 2 of the big 3 draw each other.

The above group of 5 seem closely matched

I'm sorry but that is just not true - if anything I would say that the opposite applies! I have seen a number of players from smaller schools playing representative rugby that I suspected would not have been selected if they had come from one of the big hitting schools! And is Gonzaga much bigger Fintans?

As a rugby school yes, Fintans have 27 players this years as a full team, so wouldn't exactly call them big

Fancy Rock, Michaels, Marys and Belvo to go through although few surprises likely to happen

Opening round showed there really isn't a lot between the league schools and the "big 6"

There is a gap between rock and Michaels and the rest.

Marys will be delighted with the draw. 2 league sides neither of which made the semis of the league.

Not sure Newbridge are that amazing. Strong result v pres bray but lost out to gonzaga in the league.

    Cup showing anything can happen

I would assume these games will be on the week starting Mon 12th February? And then the semis the week starting Mon 26th Feb, with the final on the 17th March.

A highly insightful analysis!!!! Not sure what your point is but if you're having a go at Knock you should read the match reports....Against a Rock that have been the most impressive of any of the schools so far Knock conceded most of those scores in the last 15 mins when Rock unleashed a very strong bench...After 55 mins it was still 20-20 and I suspect that Rock would have been out of sight by then against most other opposition. Just my opinion however!!!

I think what they meant was all the games were so tight in the end that surprisingly knock ended up with one of the biggest losing margins.

With you on Rock and Michaels....Belvo should get past Newbridge as even without David Hawkshaw they should have enough firepower, experience and discipline to get past Newbridge.....I suspect that Roscrea will sneak past Mary's....they are a physically imposing side and seem to like Donnybrook!

Hawkshaw to be back in 3-4 weeks

Youths game is a far higher standard than you or others would expect. Clontarf wouldnt be near top in terms of age grade.

If clubs game was such a high standard schools players wouldn't be dribbled all over when they come out of school to play for 20s teams

Belvo aren’t the formidable outfit there being made out to be although they’re very well coached they don’t have the talent they’ve had in the last 2 years , hawkshaw is very good yes but the likes of Byron and them aren’t world beaters , average players at provincial level and although have performed well for belvo in cup .. other schools just have more talented players

Marys a good side this year ... will surprise many in my opinion. Scored 5 tries today in a 4/5 / 10 performance ...

Assume would be a fairly significant upset for newbridge to turn over belvo. Prob equivalent to man united beating Man City. Possible but very unlikely.

They barely put away Andrews. Even a slightly harder draw and they would be gone

Mary’s beat Andrews well and will beat Roscrea.

Belvo on the other hand were appalling even with Hawkshaw and would fancy them going out in the next round
