Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any idea of Belvo team for Fri?

    1 Gleeson
    2 Harmon
    3 Cagney
    4 Howard
    5 Murphy
    6 G Hill
    7 A Coleman
    8 R Byron

    9 Walsh
    10 Hawkshaw
    11 Loughrey
    12 S Barry
    13 M Grogan
    14 A O Grady
    15 D Lacey

3 changes from team that started semi against Michaels with Hawkshaw returning after elbow dislocation and Walsh and Barry starting.

Couple of changes in the subs as well - J O Grady is back in the 23 after a hamstring problem. He started the first game vs Zaga at 13.

    .
Thanks so a stronger team for the final then?

Players involved with Leinster u18 schools?

Hawkshaw is back. Word is his younger brother might be making the step up from the juniors too sonce they got knocked out.

    Has this happened before?

Ian Fitzpatrick play scrum half for KH seniors in '10? O'Neill didn't for Knock as the juniors lasted longer then seniors.

Ok, you're being a bit disingenuous here. Let's say the answer to your question above is yes and your last sentence is correct. But they could also have been given a hobson's choice of dates and chose the best of bad options.
How am i? For refixtures like this. It will be schools committee deciding/branch based on donnybrook availability as well as other potential issues.

Any word on if Belvedere hooker Paul Twomey is back for the final? Seemed to be stuggling with his shoulder in 1st round and haven't seen him since. Aggressive with ball in hand, could make a huge difference coming off the bench.

Coynes in college 😂. Was wondering about kaputo, great player at junior level, could push rock over the line on Friday if that hamstring would stop niggling at him

Hopefully both teams will be full strength on Friday ,rock to win by 5 IMHO

Even tho Giuseppe coyne is in college at the moment, he is still eligible to play because he played junior cup in 4th year, hopefully he’ll be back for the final, great prospect

Your post suggested that the schools have a free choice. They don't, as you acknowledge above.

Its under 19 and 16 in the middle of the school year but you have to be a school student and before specific dates in school year/previous school year bar some exceptions

They do to an extent, the committee go and find a date based on pitch availability, etc, then they check these dates with the schools to make sure they're okay. Schools do get an input just not the final say, really it depends on their reasoning for disagreeing with the committee chosen date as to whether it sticks or not. It's not completely one sided but the committee have a bigger say than the schools for sure.

Do you no of anyone else involved?

These are the names I’ve heard so far
    Hugh lane back 3
    Colm Reilly 9
    Neal moylett 8
    Dylan Tierney hooker
    Ryan lomas prop
    Michael Milne prop
    Josh Wycherley prop
    Mark Fleming back row
    Ben Healy 10

I believe there’s almost the guts of two squads picked to play the back to back fixtures so the usual lads will be in there along with some new faces. Camp tomorrow in Dublin

There are players from the leinster team that played Japan in the Ireland panel, if they play the first game or not is another question but players from that team are in the panel

Is there a reason that IRFU and Leinster dont publish squads & or team news? I thought they used to in the past.

Not having Caputo is a big loss for Blackrock but having Plumtree surely will tip the match in Blackrock favours.
Any idea if Taine plumtree is involved or not?? I think he could be a very special player

  • Registered Users Posts: 6 Swords4cup

Alan Francis is out for the final aswell for Blackrock with suspected broken ankle sustained playing for the Leinster under 19s against Japan. Very unlucky not to have any involvement in the cup this year after a very promising campaign last year. Questioning the logic by the Blackrock coaching staff letting him play for the 19s so close the final especially when coming back from injury

Can you not inject a broken ankle? I’ve seen a few movies where they use a bone calcifier.
