Gerard Hill will likely be in the second row, Harry Beggy will be at 6 not 7.
Interesting to note that 5 of the 8 players you included in that pack are in 5th year too.

backline will be something like this:
    9 Ted Walsh
    10 David Hawkshaw
    11 Sam Barry
    12 John Meagher
    13 Cailean Mulvaney
    14 Matt Grogan
    15 David lacey

disaster for Bell, what will the pack look like then?

Lacey & Grogan playing rugby? thought both had quit for GAA.

Lacey back training I've heard on the back of a great minor campaign for Dublin

Lacey was a talent at JCT level, interested to see how he goes for Belvo..

Probably easier these days to make leinster academy than Dublin seniors...

Heard Newbridge have a very talented 9/10 who is in 4th year.

Gerrads won 20-15 cracking game , knock the much stronger pack , went the whole pitch in about 40 phases scoring right at the end to get a bonus point

Have some very good talent. Probably best year since Conans year.

Personally I thought castleknock played very well , dealt with gerrads throughout, gerrads got 2 trues from knock mistakes , knocks pack will lead them strong 2 second rows and back row probably strongest area as well as at 10

Great to see St Fintan's qualify for the cup for a second year running. A lot of people, myself included, wrote them off but it's great for the area and testament to the work being done in the school, Clontarf and Suttonians.

Pres bray qualified for the first time in 6 years as well

Not yet. Need a couple of more points from their last 2 games but look very likely. Pres on 9 points with 2 games left so both teams below them can mathematically overtake them. The CUS results in that group don't count as they withdrew before the league began so the table looks a little skewed. Gonzaga, Roscrea and Andrews have qualified with Pres odds on to join them and finish either 2nd or 3rd depending on how the Gonzaga game goes next week.

The other group is done and dusted with a game to spare with Gerards Newbridge Fintans and Castleknock qualifying.

Castleknock and Gerards very impressive: Gerard's managed not to get at least 2 yellows, great game : the final try by Castleknock was immense. Standard of rugby at league level improving year on year.

I agree it's great for them, but maybe less of the screaming and shouting about it all over social media - have a bit of decorum this year maybe?

Ah stop.. all that social media is spreading the game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 60 ✭✭Rugby boi

It’s spreading that Fintains are something there not , good against average sides this year crumble against the big teams and at the end of the day it’s school boy rugby the losing team have to go to school next day with the embarrassment of seeing all that sh€t spread on social media , it’s not rugby and not right especially at this level

Its promoting rugby in a non traditional school.. hardly crumbled last year..

I agree last year was great for them but putting that nonsense online is uncalled for imagine rock or belvo put up a video after they had come back the uproar that would be caused but it seems alright as it’s “spreading the game ” bollox

Sounds like sour grapes from a knock supporter

Actually a neutral from the north side try attend most of belvo or knock games. Fintains were fully deserving last year as knock had no bottle but this year knock blew them out the gate , just don’t like the way Fintains go about there business extremely unsportsmanlike

what they did was fine. Is what other schools like michaels do on social media also an issue or is it just the smaller schools??

They're not going too far. You could criticise Michaels more for what they put up on social media which is far more ott than anything really that other sides have put online.

Not good enough for purposely setting out to humiliate teams - everyone knows the grueling schedule of schools rugby : that deserves respect, win with dignity, do they not realize leinster schools laughing at them.

Kilkenny College looking poor at Senior Level, shipping heavy defeats at home this year, same at Junior level. Even with Swanepoel swapping to Kilkenny, CCR looking the better side in both competitions.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,585 ✭✭✭irishfan9

Gonzaga, Castleknock & CBC Monkstown are undefeated at JCT league level.
Pres Bray, Gonzaga, and Gerards are undefeated at SCT league level.

Had a very strong JCT team last year, hopefully they can develop and carry on through in years to come.

CCR have more talent at senior, so not surprising they are better at SCT level.

Kilkenny actually playing quite a few of their juniors from last year at senior level. This year may be a write off but they will learn a lot for next year and year after.

That may be so but nobody in Michael's will be taking anytihng for granted re pros.

I suppose you went to Rock and are currently hyping Michaels up for a fall?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,129 ✭✭✭Granny15

    1st.michales beat Belvo 19-12
    2nds Belvo won 31-29

Belvo firsts looked to be the better team with 2 try’s to 1 but michales used the boot for 4 penalty’s.both teams missing players

Wouldn't read anything into this. Michaels have bottled it in the Cup the last 2 seasons to Belvo. Belvo have more bite at Cup time much like Clongowes.

If anything history has proven they shouldn't.

Michaels aren't favourites and deservedly so.

And no I didn't go Rock nor Michaels.
