I'm thinking of getting a pair of smallish bookshelf speakers (no metal tweeters) and an amplifier

I would like to access DAB radio stations and internet radio but have no idea how they would fit into the above

I would like to hear some really nice sound but there seems to be so many options speaker/amp wise thats its confusing

Any recommendations to start with? Maybe 500 euro budget or above if the sound is right

    Thanks

    Hi Sapele,

thanks for the post and apologies for the delay getting back to you.

There are not too many amps / receivers that combine DAB and Internet radio - I'm guessing that the logic is that most DAB stations are available via web radio these days so DAB is somewhat redundant - at the moment we don't have any traditional amps that match your spec - we do have plenty that have AM/FM tuners and Internet radio and the most popular are from Yamaha with the RN301 at £199 being the most popular ( and best value!) at the moment.

If you wanted to go with a system we do have more choice - again the most popular is the probably the Denon Ceol RCDN9 at just £249/ €307 - this is a really quite interesting unit with DAB / AM / FM and internet radio - it also has a built in CD player, Spotify connect and lots of separate inputs including Optical input / USB input AND traditional analogue inputs:

On the speaker front you could look at the Dali Zensor 3 - a super speaker with a wood fibre bass cone that's fed down from the far more expensive Dali models and a soft Dome tweeter, these drives give the Zensor 3's a fast but smooth response - have a look at the review and link here:

If you went for the Yamaha RN301 receiver with the Zensor 3 they are normally £518 but we would do a Boardie special at just £449 / €519.

If you wanted the functionality of DAB +Internet radio the the Denon Ceol RCDN9 with the Zensor 3 is normally £568 but we would again do a Boardie deal at just £499 / €579.

If you would prefer a great budget floorstander to match your amp - then dont pass up the Tannoy Eclipse 3 - they sound great for under £300! and they had had great reviews:

Again if you wanted the Tannoy Eclipse 3 with the Yamaha RN301 the normal price is £498 but we can do a Boardie deal at just £449 / €519 and with the Tannoy Eclipse 3 / Denon Ceol DRAN9 the retail is £549 - Boardie deal price £499 / €589.

All the above products are in stock and ready to ship - and all pricing includes shipping.

Thanks again and keep me posted if we can assist in any way,

    ATVB,
