Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pauli giving a fair bit away here.

Also why have people been saying Conor will have to shave / trim his beard? I seen a few fights there where the fighter had a beard. Not familiar from the boxing rule set side of things?

This could well end up in a big first round brawl should spill into the 2nd round

You won't be able to cast the official sky box office stream. Only way to get it on your tv is a HDMI cable .

Really? That's a shame if so. You can view via Chrome browser mind, so it should be cast-able that way even if the Sky Sports Box Office website doesn't support Chromecast officially, no?

Are you sure it can be viewed on chrome? I could only watch on internet explorer last time I watched Aj fight.

His reaction yesterday to Justin Beiber unfollowing him on Instagram was hilarious but also very sad and pathetic, for a 40 year old man to react to a celebrity in his 20's 'leaving him' says allot.

Is that a joke, or sis it actually happen? wtf?

There was a TMZ video (I know I know) posted a few posts back explaining it, pretty sad if true

You can't watch Sky Go using Chrome, and I would assume that Sky Box Office would be the same.

Using a HDMI cable to connect your laptop to the TV seems like the best way.

I posted this in the boxing thread, but I think it's interesting so gonna cross post. Mods, feel free to delete if it's an issue.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________

I think most people more or less agree that Conor has a slim chance in a boxing match and inversely, Floyd has a slim chance in an MMA fight. People have their own (often hyperbolic) definition of the specific chance. Let’s just leave them as being subjective “slim”. I’m not trying to rehash either of those discussions.

However, because their chances are roughly opposite in either sport, that suggests that there is a midway ruleset that it close to 50/50? I’ve kinda been wondering what that ruleset might be. I think once you start adding various Muay Thai techniques it start to slide towards Conor quickly. But it gets complicated fast.

Then I thought, what about alternating rounds (like Chessboxing).

3 minute rounds. 10 rounds. 1st round Boxing rules, 2nd MMA rules, alternating after that? (assume they can change gloves without issue)
    Who wins?

Conor wins. As soon as you allow grappling Conor wins. He shoots, Floyd goes down and its over via Ground and Pound.

Whatever about the first round, second round would just be leg kick, leg kick, take down, slept by choke.

This happens 100% of the time. Floyd won't KO Conor in the first round, Conor could (but probably wouldn't) play it safe and just strangle Floyd in the second, most likely from a trip in the clinch to avoid a possible ko punch if he shot in.

From the site. Sorry for the untidy post, I'm copying and pasting from the phone:

    What are the technical requirements?

The fight is available for viewing on your PC/Desktop/MAC, NOW TV Box, iOS and Android devices.

    PC/laptop/MAC minimum requirements

A broadband internet connection (DSL/cable or higher) of 800 kbps or higher is needed. If you have an internet connection speed of 3 Mbps or higher and your computer meets the requirements below, you will be able to stream at the highest video quality.

    Minimum Windows Requirements

Pentium 4 2.4GHz or higher or equivalent AMD processor with a minimum of 1GB of memory

    Microsoft Edge (Windows 10)
Internet Explorer (11+ on Windows 8.1+)
    Firefox 47+ or later
    Chrome 35+ or later
Adobe Flash Player 11.0 or later: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/

Lads no talk of illegal streaming

What would be interesting about that scenario is that Floyd would be forced to come out swinging in the first, to try KO Conor & avoid the fight going into the second.

Lads, I'll be in Mallorca for the fight. Anyone know how I can watch it?

From what I've seen there doesn't seem to be anything open at that hour.

Should I pay for the fight and get the Sky Boffice App and hope that using a VPN allows me to watch it?

Does anybody know who is showing the fight for the Spanish market?

    Thanks

Your best bet would be an Irish/English bar. I'm sure there's plenty, check their facebook pages and possibly message them to see if they are showing the fight.

If not you could go down the VPN route, but it might be a bit of hassle.

Dan Hardy must read my posts :pac:

"“You’ve got to think that, up until the emergence of mixed martial arts, boxers were fighters,” Hardy said. “If you were a boxer, you were considered a fighter, but now you’re not. If you’re a boxer, you’re a boxer, but if you’re an MMA practitioner, you are a fighter. That’s a strong difference there, because a lot of people get into boxing for the tough guy aspect, which is kind of diminished now when there’s someone who can kick you in the leg, take you down and strangle you.

“It immediately makes them realize how single-minded they’ve been in their approach,” Hardy said. “Not that that’s a problem, because if you choose to be a boxing specialist, I have no issue with that. But don’t claim to be a fighter when you’re only using your fists, because you’re lying to yourself and everybody else.”"

nonsense, what does he mean by fighters, boxers and ufc are not fighters they are sportsmen.
if you are talking about toughness that about each individual persons pain threshold and will to win no matter the format.

some boxers are tougher than mma
    some mma tougher than boxers

    childish stuff really.

A person that trains MMA is more of a "fighter" as they have a range of techniques and styles of fighting that they can employ.

A person that is a trained boxer is not a "fighter" but a boxer.

Your childish comment is a bit over the top to be fair.

Mayweather puts on an act, McGregor is just being himself. Floyd has been doing this for years, I've watched pretty much every 24/7 or All Access series he has made, And what I see is a very insecure person, who lacks some very basic social skills. I don't believe he has many genuine friends in this world, everyone around him is out for what they can get, they all have their hands in his pockets. If he lost all his money today, 90% of those people would be gone in the morning.

His reaction yesterday to Justin Beiber unfollowing him on Instagram was hilarious but also very sad and pathetic, for a 40 year old man to react to a celebrity in his 20's 'leaving him' says allot. He doesn't seem to realize that these people don't care about him, and when appearing with him is not advancing their careers, they will drop him like a hot potato.

McGregor has no use for toilet paper with the arse lickers in his camp, But even if he was to lose it all, you still feel he would hold on to this inner circle

Beiber has left #TMT ?? This changes things. Not sure FMJ is gonna be in the right head space come Saturday - EVT Win for McGregor

If you got into boxing to want to be able to fight people then that's true . I suspect a lot got into it as a way of escaping poverty by becoming a professional sportsman though .

A lot of boxing people see people rolling around on the floor and make fun of it even though i assume its skilled . I doubt they care in the slightest that other people are better than them at that .

Dan Hardy is very hard to listen to by the way . Seems to the stereotype MMA guy obsessed by violence . Just my own opinion of course

Patrick Hyland was saying there the first time he and Conor sparred, they were messing around with a mixed rule set. He said the first time Conor kicked him it felt like he had been shot with a bazooka :pac:
