    i thought someone else from Quickstep had made it because it looked like he then deliberately dropped back?

    Seeing how well he's preformed they should have invested something into him. One of the quickstep men took a turn at the front and distanced himself from martin because he never checked if he was with him

    Dan badly exposed there. Didn't have the legs to go with his team mate. He is well out of it now.

    Froome, Bardet, Aru and Uran are now the main pretenders.

    Froome so smart in the run in. He constantly went back into the group to shelter from the wind.

    The wind seemed to be very strong as they came to the finish.

    What sort of cut off does this stage have? Doesn't seem to me that kittel needed the vast majority of that team, that whole group needs to make the cutoff, so he'd have plenty of neutral riders to stay with to get him there

    What is Martin's contract situation like? I believe he signed for 2 years in 2015.

    With Alahillippe for the puncheur classics and Bob Jungels for GC, he may find that others will be favoured next year. Quickstep always have split intentions at GT's and one could argue that the GC is only an afterthought with them.

    They could have had yellow had they supported him!
