Dont recall people complaining about Sonias times when she won her silver.

That was a national record which still stands

Agree with the BBC stuff though definitely OTT when Eurosports and IAAF have coverage available. probably been more posts about coverage than anything else through this thread

What's with the silver duct tape on the Dutch women's relay team?

British lead-off runner appears to be carrying a few extra pounds, no?

Yeah, if you took out the posts complaining about RTE not showing the championships, and the complaints about the BBC favouring British athletes in a championship held in their own country, and the discussions about rugby?... there might be a decent athletics thread left behind somewhere.

Very different reaction to this silver medal for GB & NI compared to the men's 5000m.

Saw it on the replay, final GB runner stepped on/over the line before receiving the baton. Does it matter if she didn't impede incoming German runner?

Officials have discretion in theses incidents. No impeding or advantage gained should see GB ok.

The Mo medal photos on the podium with the family are a bit OTT, Does Bolt get to bring out his family as well?

Personally a bit sad to see Mo only get Silver, great athlete, one of my hero's, the 10k race was one of the best races I have ever witnessed, (hopefully in years to come it will not be proven that he cheated, that would undermine my love of the sport)

They were concentrating on the US to see if they stepped out of the lane

Polish seem to have done very well in the field events.

I wonder is it something they have targeted and put the money into coaching and facilities for those events.

Actually surprised that bbc didn't even mention it even if it was ok

GB women clearly a DQ for running out of lane, but wouldn't be at all surprised if they get away with it here.

Meanwhile the men's team could have chosen to celebrate pretty much anywhere but right next to Bolt lying in agony on the ground. Classless from them.
