Getting insured with on-going claims

    Hello,
So I have a friend that had a crash about 3 years ago. In summary he wasn't at fault but he was young and the other party claimed against him. Those claims have been open for years now and he did have insurance somehow with one company (Axa through Chill broker). Recently he was called and his insurance was cancelled just before renewal because another claim had been opened against him recently stating that a child was injured even though there wasn't a child at the scene. Basically the insurance company somehow had wrong information as they thought the two previous claims were settled (that's why he was insured for the past two years) but now on discovery of those being unsettled and a third one being opened, they cancelled his policy and it's in the insurers databases that he has these on going claims against him. It's going to end up in court again in September/October or even January next year but until then he needs the car because he lives in the middle of nowhere and is seeking insurance now but after trying dozens of companies and brokers he has no luck and is thinking of giving up.
He has his license for 6 years and he's currently 26 if that's any help.

The question is, does anyone know any companies/brokers that would insure him right now despite those on-going claims?

-Ongoing claims lock him to existing provider.
-Existing provider has issued him with a cancellation (sounds like for non disclosure)

Even if the "must quote" legislation applies here he'd see a quote for €10,000 or something stupid.

Best he can do is wait until after the case closes and then expect a price tag of 3000-4000€ for the next couple years as he's had an insurer cancellation against his name.
