Delighted. It's no Merc, but I know how hard times can be and while your need was small for many I could see how it would be huge for you. I wish all the best fortune with it in the future.

Thanks to all who rolled in with me and made it happen!

Op, I think many of us can relate to how crap things can be when you are stuck in a corner and it's amazing how total strangers can reach out and help someone in need.
I learnt that last year during my own tragedy which I won't bring up here.
Be calm and enjoy lifes little pleasures and get that car quick!
Is there anyone who could maybe go and check the cars advertised to be sure there is nothing wrong? Would be a shame if the car was a ****bag
    Well done Lorenzo.

It was amazing to have this whole situation turned around and I really appreciate how people helped out, I'm gonna make sure to keep helping people out in the future because everyone needs a hand sometimes.

Thanks for continuing to try and help me, You guys are really going above and beyond, luckily I have a neighbour who knows a lot about cars and can go with me and I'm gonna make sure to properly look before I buy.

Thank you again for all the help and sorry to hear of you own troubles last year.

Will update when I get something sorted. Thanks a mill!

PM me and I'll send donate €50 for petrol/diesel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,244 ✭✭✭mikeecho

    ffs .. 500 euro value

    Cut your losses.

Wait for it to be recovered, and get scrap value.
No point in going insurance route.

    (Replace with a 3L flat 6, may I suggest the m140i)

This post popped up on the front page, and I just wanted to say, well done to everyone. People are amazing sometimes - I'm sure the support of everyone on this thread means a great deal to the OP.

Happy motoring OP, can't wait to read the update

Some years ago I was helped out a bit like this, so I'd like to pay it forward.

I know your target has been reached, but pm your paypal details and I'll stick something in next week. You are bound to have had bits and bobs in your car that need replacing.

    And welcome to Boards :)

Fair play to you guys. Though I am not surprised one bit about community here.

When my car was broken in to I got at least 3 people offering me their old headunits, as the bastards ripped out whole centre comsole to steal my headunit.
In the end I still bought it myself, but I was more delighted to see people I know here for years, that I havent even met, were so helpful.

Op, you will have to come to meet after you get the car, boardsies will want to see what they invested too. :)

Thanks a million, I already feel at home here!

Did have a few bits and bobs like jumper cables, map, torch, cds and the like in there so I appreciate the very kind gesture!

He's probably fast asleep in a ditch in Santa Ponsa with a half-eaten kebab in his hand and someone else's trousers on his head.
