Yeah that group is not working well together at all, Martin keeps finding himself in groups where no one wants to put in a group effort

Dan should gain a place from Yates here if this stays as is.

Yates is sneaking back up on his group though.

Wish Barguil would sit up and stop helping the group, stage win is long gone now.
Dan and Aru need to empty the tank. They both can go home this evening if they don't close this gap.

Stick a €10 on Rogolic at big odds so glad to still see him in the break.
Contador as short as 5/4 with 55km still to go.

    Great call.
    Well done.

Yeah but there's 4 of the 6 who should be working. Aru, Dan, Meintjes and his teammate.

I think he's riding to get into the top ten, what with quintana and caruso behind him.

not the worst for Dan in the end - about 29 seconds?

Delighted for Dan. Yates is so risk averse. Don't like his style at all.

    Uran up to second

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,061 ✭✭✭Doc07

Dan limited losses well there, pity he lost contact on descent. Suppose he's still dealing with injuries.
I wouldn't blame him if he approached Aru and Mentes and co and told them to grow a pair of Ba&€s as they were **** in the chase but maybe they just didn't have it in them in the end.

Also the short lived attacks and lads dropping from the group do make it easier to believe that they are clean which is a good think all round.

No they use count back, Uran has a stage win.

As much as I don't like Froome, he dealt with everything thrown at him today and even contested a sprint finish. In fairness to Dan , he gave it all on the last climb, threw on a couple of attacks but the others were strong today. Roglic did very Well to hold off on the descent. One of the few enjoyable stages today.

Dan's stats are very good considering his team is ranked 3rd last and Sky ranked first.

    6th in GC
    7th in points
    10th in climbing

How would him and Froome do in a team swap ?

I wouldn't think Dan will be happy with today, I know I wouldn't be.

Some serious aftertimimg with the poll. No one else had gone for Roglic when I voted and there was only a few km to go then....

Has to be separation of powers...can't argue with the Poll result :D

Only one man seems to have profited by careful analysis and putting his money on the line...

No wonder, he had Dahat roaring at him for 40km!!

I've not seen a huge amount of the race & it has been on a while so easy to forget things but of the top 3, is Bardet the only one to have attacked at any stage in the race so far? I know Uran has won in a sprint but that's not what I'd call an attack.

. . . Come to think of it Froome put in a bit of a dig the stage after Dan led up the final climb after Kwiatkowski dropped back but that'd hardly count as a meaningful effort.

Froome looks to have plenty left in the locker. Its certainly valid to wonder how others would get on with a team as strong and dedicated to the GC as sky but I think he will be a deserving winner all in all.
