I'm looking at getting an iPad, is there a new model due out this year, or is this one good till the next iteration next year or whatever?

    They already refreshed them.

The iPad Air 2 was replaced with this which is the same one you linked to above from Compub.

Simply called the iPad. Slightly faster cpu, brighter screen, and same size 9.7 inch screen, but thicker screen taken from air 1 and not laminated. Nor does it have the anti-glare coating from the air2. Overall pretty decent from a performance point of view but I'd still try to get a 2nd hand air 2 as I think the screen is superior to the current ipad.

If you are doing more then using your ipad as a media device and want to attempt a laptop replacement setup, then The iPad Pro might be your thing. The 12.9 inch was refreshed recently with slightly thinner bezels and they introduced a 10.5 inch version. Main improvements on generation 1 are faster cpu's and graphics on both and a 120hz screen.
