Approaching the last 10km and looking like ending up in a sprint finish with a small group 10 seconds up the road from the peloton including Sam

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,387 ✭✭✭cunavalos

Looks like Kristoff from Viviani, Bennett probably just inside the top 10

Actually sam outside top 10, had to start from too far back and sat up

Dunbar is out for the season so it won't be him. Martin Roche Brammier Dunne Mullen O'Loughlin would make sense to me

    You cheeky f**ker MPFGLB :D
What I mean is that the course wouldn't suit Bennett

    I know :D:D:D

But would it really not suit him ? (Asking for a friend :))

Kristoff , EBH, etc going ....Bennett surely could ride it better than many

Lots of supposedly selective worlds courses haven't turned out to be that selective come race day, so I'd be tempted to bring Sam. He'd get over the climb as good as Kristoff wouldn't he?

Some countries opting not to bring sprinters, course profile below. Sorry for the big version :o

So they have to ascend Salmon Hill 12 times in total - 1.5 km @ 6.4%?

The British RR team is kinda.... crap!

Owain Doull, Pete Kennaugh, Adam Blythe, Mark Christian, Jon Dibben, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Ian Stannard, Ben Swift and Scott Thwaites

Is Cummings still out injured? He had a great run in the Nationals in June with the RR and TT wins.

    why no Thomas ?

Ben Swift can do best of that lot imo ....good on the long hard stuff
Not sure about Officer Dibble and Owen Doll :D

But Swift & Blythe selection make a case for Bennett surely

It's the World Champsionship in their home country. They'd not want to miss that you'd think

But also, Norway probably isn't setting up a course they have zero chance for. Too hard for a pure sprinter but not so hard for Kristoff and EBH.

around 8km flat between Salmon hill and the finish, Salmon Hill not that long either so unlikely anyone will get a big gap in on it, would think there should be time to regroup after it, so likely bunch sprint .....Sagan winning it

Will Nico be picked for the TTT for BMC I wonder?

Dennis & Kung you would expect to be certainties.

Then you the likes of Brookwalter, Oss, and De Marchi and Quinziato who all preform very well in TTTs with BMC.

There is Rosskopf who is the current US ITT champion.

    What about TvG?

Are there any stipulations about the selection process? for example, do they have to be picked to race for their countries in the ITT or RR? I can't think off the top of my head.

My memory of Bergen is that its full of cobblestones so there will be part of the course going over that as well.

No it seems they are staying with the team of last year which included Oss & Quinziato who are leaving
Rosskopf , Dennis & Kung also

And Diller or TJ probably coming back in from 2015 wining team to replace Phinney

No stipulations for TTT and country selection
