Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Commentary on rte is woeful. Keeps on calling carvajal casemiro.

Game over, that was far too easy. Well deserved too

    Great goal.

Huge gulf in class between the best in Europe and the English teams.

    Stormzy would've put that away.

    Fabulous goal

Classy, luckily for united they won't be facing this calibre of opposition in the league.

Well in fairness they are playing against the 6th best side in England last year.

Some miss from Lukaku, should have buried it.

Well it's the Spanish Champions against the 6th best team in England. Bit of a difference and it's been shown up tonight.

Era they could batter any of the English sides IMO.

If they get any of them in the group stages theyll walk through them too.

I reckon City will go furtherest in the CL but it depends on the draw really doesnt it.

    Torn apart.

This is like the time Atletico battered Chelsea in this cup a few years back.

We were 2nd best all night.

  • Game on
    Get in lukaku

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    And lukaku scores :D

Poor from Navas and it was nearly 3-0 60secs before it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,881 ✭✭✭✭klose

    Game on here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,661 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

It was kind of amazing how Bale was able to blast it against the post from that angle earlier.

Anyways, Lukaku didn't repeat himself this time.

Poor from Navas to palm it back to Lukaku like that twice in 10 minutes.

utd reverting to type now... Fellani at center forward..

Are you even watching the game? Such nonsense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,661 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

    Very good game this.

He wouldn't be one for the aesthetes but there is a certain joy in seeing Fellani trundling around on the field, bashing into people and causing chaos.

    Fluffed it.

Ronnie still going on about utd in the first ten minutes

Great game up till lukaku scored and i felt the game was much poorer after it, madrid could have won by 3-4 goals and utd couldve easily brought the game to extra time, fully old game.

Ronnie had gone from declaring United potential world beaters to saying it'll be a long season for them.

    Wow kenny haha

Utd were outclassed but whos really surprised?

    Real are a cut above.

What the hell is wrong with Kenny tonight? He's bullying everyone in the studio. I think Duff was quite annoyed at him, Kenny cut him off at one point and Duff stayed completely silent for the next five minutes with a big thick look on his face.

  • Registered Users Posts: 848 ✭✭✭Muff_Daddy

Hopefully they're giving Kenny the Xanax during that break, for everybody's sake.

    Kennys on it tonight.

    Hes all over the shop.

Duff is so funny to watch while he's listening to Kenny speak. His face is so expressive: Don't agree with that: frown. Agree with that: nod. Never thought of that before: eyebrows all the way up.

It was bizzare alright, whatever about not rating herrara but them to go on about replacing him with oxlade chamberlain who has what, 10-20 games in central midfield all career? And has never been a nailed on first team player at arsenal?

Yeah, what was that? I'm an Arsenal fan and I think Oxlade-Chamberlin can be pretty effective on his day, but those days can be few and far between. He's definitely not the answer to any teams prayers; I'd have Herrara ahead of him any day of the week.

You'd have to wonder what was Kenny imbibing in The Green Room prior to broadcast. I usually like Kenny as a pundit but he was talking absolute nonsense there. He was a bit out of control tonight, probably trying to put a marker down for the upcoming punditry campaign. There's a World Cup at the end of the year and he probably wants to be in the (RTE Sport Department) manager's thoughts come June.

He was very aggressive about Herrera for some reason, screaming get in the OX :pac:

I dont rate Herrera at all but hes miles better than Ox-Cham in CM, dont know what Kenny was on about at all.

Unless he was hoping for a reaction in a Dunphy-esque manner.
