For the 3rd and 4th knockdowns was Joshua kinda dragged/pushed down? 3rd was after a flurry of punches but seemed lie a bit of a pull on the back of his head, 4th more so. Only saw one quick replay.

    Yeah AJ was robbed.

Didn't say that, or anything even close to that.

Joshua is showing what a class act he is in defeat.

It's sad in a way. I'm no fan of Hearn but Joshua was bringing heavyweight boxing back to the top.
Ruiz is like a Rocky character though so could be really good for the game too.

F*ck that, cream will always rise to top. People want real champs not whats perceived to be good for sport.

Hearns desire to pay peanuts is shattered now, all these other guys will fight each other. Joshua would too in fairness if it wasnt for Hearn.

Joshua trying to get involved in the interview like this is weird. I'll take that back with the way he declined the interview and said talk to Ruiz.

    Aj decent there.

Jesus if Joshua goes out and fights the same way in a rematch you'd wonder where that would leave him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭sham69

Just can't take to aj at all, never seems sincere . Fair play Ruiz , well deserved

Sky focussing a bit much on Ruiz being a nice guy this week no? If a pro gets disarmed by that you'd really wonder how focussed they are.

Way to go Ruiz! AJ seems nice but didn't travel well. But I think that Fury would take Ruiz easily.

But the biggest potential PPV this side of the Atlantic might be randomers beating the crap out of Eddie Hearn.

    Jesus!
Heavyweight boxing and the faux humility on show by AJ here is all raising my cynical hackles!
It's really starting to look scripted.
AJ goes stateside, loses and appears magnanimous in defeat and raises his profile hugely.
Exercises immediate rematch clause with fight on homeground and huge PPV potential with the additional bonus of hugely boosting interest in the HW division...

Would be a very Hearne move ;)

exposed . He was literally quite a poor boxer. Maybe it will be good for boxing in the long run . You make the money fights while you can . Especially at heavyweight

    Hearn saying rematch in November/December

. He was literally quite a poor boxer.

Tonight he was. In previous fights he's often looked a million times better.

I'm not going to say I was expecting this. Not even close but I've doubted AJ's pedigree and especially his chin under pressure after certain key fights in the past. He's taken a lot of those belts off some very average fighters. He seems like a decent guy but he's been found out. The hype train ends tonight. Huge respect for Ruiz.
