I live in a one bed apartment with my girlfriend and have noticed that Airtricity recently started billing us for €111 per month (i had thought i was previously only paying every two months!)

We never use the heaters provided so its just basic utilities like TV, Fridge, Lights, Cooker that are being used.

Is it just me or does this seem to be excessive?

Did you leave the immersion on?

No we have the water heated using a timer - that said the thermostat does seem to be dodgy and it tends to trip regularly

Probably left the immersion on, it's a killer

Are you on level pay? Do you submit a meter reading each month?

Yes on a level pay plan but also submit meter readings frequently

Level pay is payment every month, they change the amount every 4 months in line with what you are using, go to your account overview and it will tell you if you are in credit

In my old apartment my meter was wrong for storage heating and ESB came out and reset it. got a couple of euros back.
