Contractors for passive house renovation/extension Laois/Kildare

    Hey Boards.ie community,

    We are planning the renovation and extension of a cottage in Laois/Kildare and looking for recommendations on contractors, tradesmen and products. Please PM with contacts or comments to support the following wishlist - thanks in advance.

    Project:
    Renovation of old cottage (abandoned for a decade, solid foundations and walls (concrete), all else needs gutting) and extension to the rear (gallery hallway and new main entrance to 1.5 story open-plan living etc.) - U-shaped (with courtyard in centre) @ ~1,900 sqft. Project aims to meet passive house standards (want option to certify, but not essential), so retrofit of old cottage and super efficient new build, and inclusion of energy and efficiency technologies (Solar Water Heating, Solar PV and Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR)).

    Based on above, looking for recommendations (particularly local) for:
    - Main contractors
    - Design-build contractors
    - Timber frame suppliers
    - Aluclad glazing
    - Renewable energy and efficiency providers
    - Plumber
    - Electrician
    - Carpenter
    - Roofer
    - Ground works
    ** Please any others **

    Also, would be good to know who to avoid?!
