Finding old pension scheme in a liquidated company

Some employees in a company I consult for have pensions in old workplaces that are now liquidated. They wish to get control of these and possibly merge them with current workplace pension.

Trouble Is, they don't know the pension company they were with. What's the best way to track these down? Through the liquidators? One firm of liquidators I do know but the others were such a long time ago it's hard to get info.

    Any ideas?

Make sure the employees get advice before moving to your company Pension.

Its not always the best advice for them to merge Pensions together.
