Anyone else getting strong Skyfall vibes? It sounds very similar in parts IMO.

Yes, it sounds like Skyfall in parts ,Writing on the Wall in others ,The World is Not Enough in others.
Its like a rehash of earlier songs ,when I heard it first I thought it sounded very familiar .

That theme song is pants. Takes forever to get going and still doesn't by the end.

why hire one of the hottest young pop singers of the day, and get them to do such a dreary unmemorable song. They rejected Radiohead's song last time because it was too abstract, it was "Agadoo" compared to this.

They just wanted a name on a track that was already probably written in advance. Long gone are the day's when they hire talented songwriters and leave then at it.

It's just another boring ballad for the x factor generation.

It has a very familiar vibe about it alright.

That said I listened to it a few times this morning and I do really like it. It's not "Know My Name", but it hits the Bond beats in a different way.

It's not bad, but it's yet another one in the same vein of what we got from Adele and Sam Smith - mournful and slow.

Chris Cornell's remains the standout Bong song of recent years for me, and that's purely because of the sheer energy in the song. It grabs you by the neck from the get go and his powerful voice drives it all. Lyrically, he also seemed to really understand the character as he was presented in Casino Royale.

The song is fine, but as a Bond song I want a bit more power after the last few being more ballad like. Give me a Living Daylights or A View to a Kill style theme please.

If not a banger, then something akin to Nobody Does it Better. What a tune.

Not a Billie Eilish fan but to be fair it's pretty OK. Could do with a bit more lift/gusto in spots, but yeah, it's OK.

Poor James, struck down by Coronavirus.

Always thought it'd be the clap that'd get him in the end.

I have a feeling there could be reshoots now ,a convenient excuse .

Yeah, this feels a little out of nowhere; haven't got a sense that outside of big sports or cultural events like St. Patricks, there's much appetite or concern about cancelling every social outlet out there. Does make one wonder if this is masking more reshoots. IIRC the production was pretty hurried to begin with.

No Time To Dent Your Box Office Numbers.

It’s a fairly ridiculous move, but I’d be amazed if it is being driven by anything other than dollar / yuan signs. I was laughing at various fan sites earlier this week passionately urging the producers to delay it to save the film’s precious box office - so strange to me to hear third parties so passionately concerned for a mega blockbuster’s financial take.

Surely of all the brands relatively bulletproof from external events, Bond would be right up there? You might delay a film with an uncertain future, but Bond? Has there even been any sense that Corvid-19 is even eating into cinema attendances or, anything, really? Hell IIRC it's not even clear if the sales of Corona Lager has been effected by the outbreak :D

April would have been a weird time to release a Bond movie.

Maybe the Rami Malek character's master plan is to use bio-warfare?

surely they should have said delayed release for 007 months

Sort of off topic but I think they confirmed sales are down 8% and also this

Honestly, I'd be more worried for the Fast & Furious franchise

Listening to Simon Brew's Film Stories podcast it seems every Craig-Bond production has been hurried due to Eon's habit of announcing a release date before a script has been written. Unfortunately he doesn't cover all the Bonds in one pod but they're worth a listen if you can search through them.

I think cinemas are closed in parts of China. Closed in Italy now today aswell. Wouldn't shock me if Mulan is also delayed.

Had heard rumours that plot was related to bio-warfare long before Covid-19 outbreak so wouldn't surprise me.

The conspiracy theories about the virus being man-made would not play well in China which is a huge market for Bond.

Simple explanation, though, is the uncertainty of movie theatre closures worldwide.:)

Wait, so was Coronavirus some sort of meta-viral marketing campaign for 'No Time To Die' that got out of hand?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭branie2

I was really looking to see the film next month

Bit dissapointed to wait but high hopes for this one

I think you could be on to something.
That and also more money by delaying it allowing more people to see it. Especially in China.

All in all from reading the comments I think we are all in agreement it was not for the good of people lol.

38% of Americans wouldn't buy Corona beer "under any circumstances" because of the coronavirus, according to a recent survey.

    That's hilariously depressing.

Maybe the price will go down to something reasonable.

I wonder though if they asked a similar number of American drinkers before the Coronavirus shenigans would they ever drink Corona beer, I betcha that the amount who never would wouldn't be far off 38% to begin with. It's a clickbaity headline.
