    Hi All

    Location : Douglas Cork
    Time : 3.45 am
    Date : 26 July 2017
    Reg : 93 lk 2093
    Make : Mazda 323

Please pm if you see it. There is no other car like this around, she is one of a kind. Great sentimental value as it was passed down from my grandmother.

Odds are that she's gone for good but i've been lucky before.

Sorry to hear that, but chances are you will get it back. Normally this are some dickheads after robbing somewhere looking for a way home. Where in Douglas was it lifted?

Do you have a second car? Might be worthwhile taking a drive around the estates of the Northside (I only say Northside as its opposite side of the city), car might be parked there for a few days.

Seriously unlucky. Has it been stolen from same place every time?

Yep. The neighbours had their driveway repaved by one of these ABC paving crowd. Since then we've had nothing but trouble :(

Slim enough I'd say. Do you have the link?

It was in the last week, the only 2 pages I look at for cars are Cork cars/parts on Facebook and also on donedeal.

I definitely seen an identical car last week or the week before.

If I come across it I'll screenshot it and forward it on.

    Edit:

I've seen the post on people's republic of cork, I'm living in the Knocknaheeny area and would know a few hotspots, I'll have a look around.

Nashes boreen is another place for abandoning cars.

No problem. Was the tunnel CCTV checked by the Gardai?

A car like that would stand out in this day and age.

    Keep us updated.

    She is a nice motor.

They're on the case. Sure they couldn't do much even if it was on the footage. She's in a field or a shed at this stage

That's great to hear. It'd be worth dropping it into an auto electrician and get him to wire up a hidden kill switch. If they can't start it there's less chance of it going missing again, this type of car wouldn't be the likes of which that would be stolen to order, more a case of easy to hotwire.

Well worth getting done, wired up to the battery and hidden somewhere only you know about

Match it up with a basic pull-pin alarm under the bonnet, as an audible alert.

One of these things might be worth considering too:

When I'd one of the last gen RS2000s, the thing would attract a lot of unwanted attention, as it stood out, even though they're weren't fast or powerful.

Placed one of those on the steering wheel and had no more issues of dopes trying the locks.

Might add a few mins to your morning commute, esp in the winter when the locks get a bit stiff, but totally worth it.

I'd avoid the more basic types, as they only help them break the steering lock, by giving them something to kick.
Plus, they usually damage the wheel, which might already be a bit fragile.

    How did they find it?

Out of curiousity what insurance company are you with? It's a 24 year old car so insurance must be hard to get.

Cops found it on Sunday morning down a back road, only 10 minutes from my house.

I'm with Axa and tbh they were brilliant over the few days.

Glad to hear it was found. I was fearing it would be burnt out.

Sad to see this happening in Cork.
