How beneficial is it to scratch coat the inside of the external walls when putting an Insulated slab on these walls? I thought the airtightness would be achieved by taping the slabs?

Haven't started the first fix yet just getting prices for the Plastering and one of them brought it to my attention. Ber assessor recommend it when I went back to him about it, but is it over kill?

Its recommended but it is not critical. I have seen houses achieve <2 ACH air tightness by just taping the joints and sealing but as with everything, the devil is in the detail.

If you are going down that route, it might be advisable to get a preliminary airtightness test done before skimming in order to identify any issues before its too late
