    What I can't figure out from the opaque coverage is what exactly did UAE and DM fall out over regarding the TDF?
    Nutrition sponsors, preparation etc.
    Can anyone shed any light? or even theories?

    Re ICA, perhaps he has seen scheduling promises that we have not access to.... and/or lots of cash!

    Or perhaps those 'Sunny' Eurosport ads have got to him eventually.

    Yes, that's what the rumour mill says. But also other equipment. He's just more professional than Aru was last year, and won't throw a sponsor publicly under a bus.
