Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Queries about importing a classic motorcycle from the US.

I'm looking into the costs of bring a classic motorcycle (1920's or 1930's) into Ireland from America. The bike will most likely be disassembled and incomplete. With a value in that condition of €8000.
As far as I know there is no VRT due on a motorcycle of this age, would I be paying VAT?
    What is the procedure?
Do I contact customs before it gets into the country?
Will it be stopped at the port and I pay/collect in person?
Does the shipping company collect the VAT on delivery, this has happened in the past with smaller packages I have received?
Would it even be classified as a vehicle as it's in pieces?

This is all a long way off and may never happen.
