Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I was lucky this time.
I couldn't see anything significant in the pic itself so I guessed that Fred posted it because the town itself was well known.
For some reason it reminded me of Krakow/Auschwitz and the German taxis led me to check Dachau first.
Although I expected the train station there to be bigger.

    Not Zaragoza.

Although most of the city population is bilingual, street names are not in Spanish - that's another hint!

    Melilla?

    Not Melilla.

Right region was already mentioned, what I meant to say was that Spanish is one of the two official languages there but if you know the street name and trying to google it in Spanish it won't work - I've already tried that!

I was looking for the right name, but landing in all the wrong places.
    Carrer Isabel.

Carrer Isabel II to be exact.

Isabella II of Spain came to the throne in 1833 when she was only 3 year old. Her father had no sons so he replaced the Salic Law (which restricted succession to the throne to the direct male line) with the Pragmatic Sanction of 1830 allowing daughters to succeed to the Spanish throne as well as sons, but his brother Carlos refused to recognize a female sovereign and that led to the long and bloody Carlist Wars. In 1868 after the Glorious Revolution Isabella went into exile and spent the rest of her life in France.
The street was named after monarch who spent about half life in exile!
When I said that I was hoping that you will find the name of the street very quickly, given that Spain was already on your mind from the first guess. The only problem was that in Spanish Street is Calle, and in Lleida all streets are in Catalan, which is Carrer, and Google gives nothing for Isabella II + Street + Spain, even when you translated it into Spanish so my next hint was that in Catalonia there are two official languages and you should translate the street name into Catalan first. It was a bit confusing, I admit that.

So, well done (all of you)!

K.Flyer, it is your turn now!
