    Villeneuve-sur-Lot in France.

Yes, indeed it is. Well done. A town in which my family have had friends for the last 40 years.

But how did you get it?

It was searchable via Google Images if one wanted to be 'naughty'. Something to check when posting.

Also looked like a Cathar style bridge, so image search for 'southwest france old bridge' and there it is.

It was a combination of trial and error, and dumb luck, but I find long keyword searches are handy for things like this so I ended up with “medieval vaulted arch bridge” and then searched that for a few different countries, ended up with a picture of a very similar bridge somewhere in the Lot valley so I assumed there might be another and followed towns along that river and it didn’t take long after that.

Just noticed that tricky D, ye’ll think the worst of me now but I did get extremely lucky. :D

    I’ll throw this up anyway:

It could be hard, so I’ll say there’s a very slight link to the previous location.

Don't doubt you for a moment. I did look as I didn't want the long trawl of searching, so ruled myself out of this one.

Yeah, I didn’t take it from maps, I just knew that I wanted to post a pic of that bridge so I searched for it on Google Images. It did occur to me that someone might just do a reverse image search, but I reckoned that doing so was against the spirit of the thread!!!

    Sorry for the delay.

It’s in Germany, only saying that because it’s possibly still a tricky one to get.

    Neustadt bei Coburg

That’s it indeed, a twin town of Villenueve-sur-Lot.

(I was just going to post that, wikipedia says it's a twin town of the last place in France) ... ;)

Hmm, with a continental coastline of 26 odd thousand kilometres, any chance of a state for a clue?

Mind you, given the road/bridge in the foreground, maybe it's a river...?

Yeah fair enough, it's about 4,000 km from Palm Beach NSW

    Edit: To the West
