    Well done.

Commissioned in 1574 by the same Turkish (Serbian) Grand Vizier who commissioned the more famous Visegrad (Bridge on the Drina) bridge.
Hard to make out, but in the 2nd pic I posted, each stone is numbered.
A hydroelectric station and dam was built in 1965 and the bridge was submerged, but the following year they emptied the reservoir and moved the bridge 10km upstream, stone by stone.

How did you find it? I was looking for Roman arch bridges in eastern Europe and that one didn't pop up for me.

Most of the stone bridges in the Balkans would have been built by the Turks so the Roman bit might have excluded it from the hits.

Nah that has definitely Ottoman style about it.
Just think of the very famous one in Mostar with the high arch.

Did anyone else think "... I'm almost sure I've seen that bridge somewhere before doing another search"? :)

If you have one you want to put, that's fine with me.
If not, here's something that's not a bridge.

No direct flights obviously, but if you travel light, carry on only, you can get combinations of Ryan air & wizz air & easy jet through different places, Munich, Berlin, etc.
You could also travel to Pristina in Kosovo, fly from here to Luton, then onto Pristina. It's about an hour journey to Skopje, around 50 Euro in a taxi.

Cheer's bubblypop was just checking the Berlin route as Kerry Airport has Ryanair flights to there now.

Will have a look at the Pristaina option too, Skopje is in my head now so I'll have to go there. Be a nice break.
