Removing name of house from central register

We bought a house last year. The previous owners have given it a name - every other house in the estate seems to have a number.

All that was displayed on the house itself was a sign bearing the name. We took down their sign and put a number up, but if you try to get anything delivered through one of those online address finders, the name of the house populates as the primary address. We are now having issues with deliveries - the postman knows the estate well enough its not a problem, but anything being delivered by courier generally has issues, as the name is what they are looking for.

They may have done this due to there being two houses with the same number in the same estate, albeit one has the word "crescent" added to their row. However their name is cringe worthy, and we don't want to use it.

I have no idea where the name would be registered - does anyone know, and how I go about removing it?

In our last place we had a name, this was due to being built in the back garden of another previously quite large property.

Ask them to change their records which should cascade to Eircodes and also providers using them as a lookup.
