There is no law against being an inconsiderate ass, unfortunately. But there are ones against vandalism and criminal damage.

God help her if I caught her damaging my car. I doubt she would be able to deck me either! But what she would be doing is paying dearly for her criminal damage. One of these days she will either do it to the wrong person or too close to a camera.

Today's episode existed in the form of a woman parking about 10 inches from my car, then trying to get her fat ass out - there was no car on the other side of her and had she straightened up correctly she'd have got out of her car with a lot less hassle.

I dont like that people park like asshats, but intentionally keying someones car is not the right approach. I understand anyone's want not to be inconvenienced and I can understand that it will present difficulties to certain people, elderly as you mention, but then the person needs to be dealt with accordingly, maybe fined by the car park if you cant get into your car or are over the line, phone cameras are available, picture it, but keying someones car, too much.

Camera, eh? There are cameras and security at her workplace, a large business park. When she came out to find her back window put through, amazingly security couldn't see anything on the cameras.

When her front grille was wrecked 2 weeks ago, amazingly security couldn't see anything on the cameras.

She is quite confident she won't be caught on camera keying a car that is almost touching hers.

Again I'll ask. Do you think it's ok to park right up to someones drivers door and expect no recourse?

Well yes if someone dents my car which is just 1 year old then they will be getting it fixed. Hitting people in the pocket is the best way to teach them to be more considerate in future.

My last car had a considerable large dent & missing paint from one such inconsiderate ass.

You and I both know there are no legal avenues to punish such an act. She actually does picture it on her phone and sends it to me. I get a chuckle out of it to be honest.

I can understand someones frustration at being inconvenienced, its a pain, but trashing someone elses car, there is no right to punish them and they have done you little wrong by blocking you, as to the other damage, she should get her own cameras installed in her car. I cant see how you can square her damaging other peoples property when she is doing the same to someone who has only blocked her and iven her own car has been damaged by others???

Now if both sides were blocked or if there was damage that was clearly from the car beside hers, take pictures, but exacting revenge may not work out well.

As I had damage to my car and was sickened because of it, I asked for footage, data protection limits an individuals personal right to access that I believe, but in my own example of some tool scratching the side of my car, the sympathetic security guard said to me, you'd have to see it being done if it was seemingly apparent there was a paint swap, and even then you'd need footage.

Even scumbags think they have a right to damage other peoples cars, what hope is there, if the colour of your car pisses someone off it gets keyed now.

A friend of mine had a new car keyed while parked outside the shop in a small village. The shop had CCTV camera and showed clearly a seemingly respectable local retired civil servant carrying out the deed. No one ever thought he would say boo to a cat, turns out he is a scumbag vandal who was jealous someone got a new car like one he had always wanted.

There's something weird about this. Yaris' are tiny aren't they? If your OH was parking in the middle of a space other cars would actually need to be regularly parking and encroaching into the same space for her not to be able to get in. I don't think this has happened to me once in all my time driving.

On the occasions where cars are squeezed a bit tight together it could be just as likely another car's fault down the line somewhere. Yes, maybe a car shouldn't try to park if the space is a bit tight but maybe the car park is busy and there's not a lot of options.

If she actually wanted to give them a lesson she could leave a note or something on the windscreen of the offending car. Instead it comes across like she has a screw loose.

If somebody parks too close to you, it might not be completely their fault. For example, the person on the other side of them might have parked across the line (and subsequently left) and they had to squeeze in because it was the only spot and they had to be somewhere quick.

Not sure what 'safely' getting in the car means. You can either squeeze in your door or you can't?
