Have you guys been hacked.

Just got a notification saying Boards.ie has detected a virus. It then opened up a spammy site when I tried to close it.

Didn't get the URL though. Sorry.

boards detected a virus? not a service I am aware of...

did you have any other tabs open at the time? can you remember if there was any banner ads on the boards page you were on?

Had no other tab open. Not sure about a banner add. Have AdBlock disabled so there probably was.

Out of pure coincidence, I ran an anti-virus scan myself this morning and everything was clean so don't think it was my laptop.

Similarly, I've just run another after it, and I'm fine too.

I was on my phone at the time so wasn't paying full attention so just panicked and closed everything.

Had that issue myself earlier. The Web Developer extension in Chrome has been hijacked. Update it to v0.5 and that will sort it.
