Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking for advice for a friend coming home from the States in September
He wants to go backpacking in Europe before coming to Ireland, so is trying find the best/cheapest way to send his laptop here (he dont take it on his travels through Europe lol)
He's afraid if he sends to parents home they can be hit for customs charge ?
Would sending it to parcel motel be better ? What is the best way to send it please
He can carry with him on returning to States
    thanks for any advice :)

Send it to his parents place. Mark it as a warranty repair. It should be fine.

    https://addresspal.anpost.ie/

Address Pal just updated to include shipping from the US. Starting at 15.99e

    Might be worth investigating.

Pack it with the rest of his possessions and mark them as 'personal possessions - moving country' and he should be OK.

Some courier companies will do 'slower delivery' for a much reduced price than next day delivery.

If he's starting his European travels in an EU country, he could bring the laptop with him and ship it to his parents from there. Should be cheaper than shipping from the US and there would be no worry about customs since it's coming from within the EU.
