This is the coldest winter I have experienced apart from 2010. Hot water bottles, blankets, duvet, hairy man beside me. I am just freezing. Maybe I'm getting old. Lols. Hail and lightening a short while ago.

Was snowing here. All surfaces white. Wasn’t expecting it. Bitterly cold wind. Tara, Meath.

Standing at the train station in Sallins and it started snowing.

Hopefully a precursor for more this month.

Yes plenty reports of snow on Facebook around Donegal and a few cms on some routes by the looks of it

Knock Airport this morning is reporting 2 cm of snow cover, but the code used to describe the character of cover is "snow covering the whole ground, deep drifts". Not sure what classifies as "deep" but I'm sure we're not talking 1982.

After some violent hail showers, the worst of which was around 01:30, we had some recent snow and a light covering.

Snow shower on approach to Dublin in next 30mins??

Maybe. If it holds together and maintains some intensity. Good wind direction for us normally though.

Just missed one in to the North county.

Think somebody in ME should alter the forecast - looking at the Obs.

It was obvious there was a snow risk this morning and most of today for at least 3 days. How they miss these things I don't know.

Shower showing good returns but just easing to the south so might miss city centre.

Should be decent fall from Blanch to Howth north.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,756 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

Snowing now, beautiful flakes. I'll probably miss the heavier stuff though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,256 ✭✭✭highdef

Complete covering of snow on all surfaces here in North Kildare, near the Meath both. I see another shower on radar to the west heading this way (and maybe Dublin too). It's currently a North/south orientated shower and it's south of athlone at this time.
