Some kind of bike rack?

Hi all, my wife bought an X Trail, and it has this fitting on the tow bar. Is it for some particular type of bike rack? If so, it would be great to know what kind. Regards, Nek.

I wouldn't think so. It's more likely a clamp point for a break-away safety cable. The sort that sets the brakes on the caravan if it comes un-hitched on the road.
