Ok then, i guess I don't post easy ones even when I try to, so it's an American band who started in the nineties, had a fairly long run but are no longer around.

So this band don't have many members; it's mostly the work of one guy, or so I read anyway. I don't listen to this band.

You don't know what nova is...holy socks batman..it's only the best rock/indie station on irish radio ,bar none..none....:eek:

Accuradio indie section always good for a few bangers,or used to be anyways ,,tbh my opportunities to relax and listen to streaming radio is out competed by quick blasts from youtube..the video is almost essential now to how I rate and enjoy music.
So still no idea of who this band could be .

Smashing Pumpkins would fit the bill..

although you did say you rate the early stuff much like myself and a bit on the fence as to new material.

Not that popular really; not a lot of records sold. Just Indie rock/alt rock pretty much with soft bits. Just listening to a little bit on youtube, it reminds me of Flaming Lips and Eels. This guy/band done quite a few collaborations.

Like I said, started in nineties had a long run, so 90s and noughties band.

I will reveal all within 24 hours. Surprised no one has got it.
