Ok, as you seen from thread I am on look out for strimmer. I can't find a super thread like the ride on mower one so I will post here. I will contact mods as might be idea to have super thread

So a friend gave me Ryobi PLT 2543Y strimmer. It has ability for attachments. He has in shed for a while. He said it just stopped going one day and he just left it there.

Now I can't even pull the cord out to test it. Might be jammed. Just wondering is it worth repairing? If I got it running I would just give back to him....

Or if I can't do myself is there a repair shop in Dublin for Ryobi? and it is worth even dropping into repair shop? he said back in day probably paid 180-200 for it

It's worth repairing if it can be repaired cheap, otherwise it's not

Nearly all tool hires offer a repair service, also anyone who fixes lawnmowers will look at it too! If you can't get it working il happily take off you

They aren't a great machine, they only have a half crankshaft and the other side is unsupported.
    Problematic starting as well.

Just go to your local plant hire and buy one of their hired out strimmers, you'd get a decent brand for €150.
