Is it worth transferring from an NUI to an IT?

    I just finished my first year (business), I enjoyed one more than the others, BIS.
    I have the option to transfer straight into second year of BIS in an IT college (in the same city).
    Is it worth changing?

    I did fairly ok in my Leaving (425 points) and I was told to go for college as opposed to an IT.

    I got into the course I wanted but it's really not what I want, I enjoy BIS but I have little interest in the rest and as a result I have 3 exams to repeat because I did very little continuous assessment.
    I talked to lectures who said I'm well capable and that I'll have no problem in the next number of years.

    My first option is;
    Stay put, continue into second year (Which is still as general as first year) and get through what is basically a harder version of the year gone, then specialise in the IS stream, graduate in 3 years and probably go on to study IS at post grad.

    Or I can transfer into straight BIS, and complete the 4 year degree in the IT college, and I could still go the post grad route or straight into work.

    Am I better off struggling through one more year of general business, or should I just transfer straight into second year of BIS in the IT?

    One lecturer, in the BIS department said 'A degree and a masters is better than just a degree, and the uni stands out'.. but I'm worried it will be a repeat of this year with little interest.. so I won't get the results needed to come out with a good degree (thankfully 1st year does not count) and I would then not be eligible for a masters.

    Any thoughts?
