    Hi there,
We've finally bought a house, a bungalow out the country, which is a bit of change from renting in town.

In winter, coming home of an evening, its pretty dark out there .. heh..

The wife has requested some automatic lighting. She'd like it to light up the front and side of the house when you drive in the gate. Like a PIR on the corner of the house kindofthing.

I'e already got a great dusk-dawn LED bulb in the porch light which works a treat. 8 bucks off amazon, de job !

But now I'm thinkin two LED spots and a PIR.
I've seen some two-spot PIR setups but the range of deployment wouldn't let the one light the front and the other swivel 90 degrees to light up the side of the house. most of them are 30 - 70 degrees...
So I'm wondering if I can just rig up an independent PIR and two lights separately...

Also I spotted these MR. Beams networked lights ... they are battery powered so I'm wondering has anyone here got them/seen them/ used them.. they might be a bit weak I'm thinkin...

If they were decent they'd be cool cos I could have a lot of the drive and garden light up when a car arrives in...

The video they have on the there looks really good.. but I dunno...

I think that this is the best and more permanent solution to your problem. A PIR/light combined unit won't really do you

Really like the networked'ness of the mr beams yokes.. the whole place would light up when ye drive in.. but they are only battery powered ... so..

You can get wireless "ordinary" PIRs and hook the base unit to proper mains powered deathray bright lights

    Oh ! NOW you're talking!!!

    Brilliant!
Thats definitely what I'm lookin for !

    Superb. Thanks!

Would you know does anyone do the same in a 'beam' photocell type thing for across a gate ?
I had a PIR on the driveway:

    (driveway alarm/doorbell from amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00WG2VVV2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

But the shaggin thing kept going off with cats and even the odd cloud...
Apparently PIRs have to be pretty expensive before they can diffentiate...

So I'm thinking a beam at about 2 foot hight would be the ultimate solution.

If I had a beam across the gate that remotely transmitted to the house I could light the place up as soon as a car came in the gate like...

Thanks again for the Impulser.. thats a very cool idea...
