Rent Increase

Hi all,

I'm currently renting a 2 bed apartment and have been since January 2013. My rent has always been €350 p/m. I got a call today from the letting agent who advised me that the typical rent in my building is on average, €700-750 p/m.

He asked me to look at the prices of similar properties in my area and come back to him with what I think is a fair price / what I can afford to pay monthly and that we can try to arrange a fair price then.

Is there a limit on how much the rent can be increased and how much notice should they give me to a rent increase?

If you are in an RPZ then the rent increase is limited to 4%.

However your location is showing as limerick which isn't covered by this as far as I know.

If you are renting in Limerick (as your BIO suggests), then there is not alot you can do and they can charge what they want.

Since you are there for 2 years you have part 4 tennacy rights, so notice of increase is 6 weeks i think, (stand to correction of this).
