Newbie DSLR lens question

Ok forgive what is probably an obvious question, but I've just gone DSLR and bought an entry level Nikon D3300.

Without showing my age, to date I've used a Minolta X700 which I've had since new from 1981.

My question is, what mount do I look out for for the Nikon and are there any recommended online sellers I should visit ?

    Thanks in advance

There are a number of brands such as tamron and sigma but make sure to get lenses with a Nikon fit.
They also do compatibles with canon which obviously won't fit a Nikon.

It's Nikon F-mount. Just make sure the lens has its own focus motor as that body doesn't. For Nikon that's AF-S, but other brands have their own naming codes.
