I know this is an old-ish thread. But i finally got to try this in SF last month and was blown away. Ive had real burgers that tasted much worse.
I say this as a red meat lover (especially wagu) but was truely surprised at how juicy it was. I would describe it as a beef patty made with short shredded beef rather than minced meat.

I also had the beyond burger but that is much more like a veggie burger.

Its just a heap of chemicals stick togermther so it takes nice....teymight be okay now but they could be frowned upon like asbestos and cigatettes in years to come...
    Imo
If you want a burger, you eat a beef/chicken burger. If you want a salad you eat veggies and fruits...
Can u imagine if someone started putting meatballs or slices of bacon in a salad:rolleyes:

Weren't people against genetically modified food a few years ago. This seems much higher risk potentially like tobacco and asbestos as you say.

Hmmm meat can only improve a salad. I'd let them work away with the meatballs and bacon.

Is Scientific American a cesspool too?
This article talks about a different family of pesticides, neonicotinoids, and how they're increasingly appearing at several points in the food chain. It questions whether they are to blame for birth defects in deer and damage to the bee population. These are concerns that have raised about glyphosate as well.

As Pesticide Turns Up in More Places, Safety Concerns Mount

The prevalence of neonicotinoid application, like glyphosate, is widespread. 90 percent of corn and 50 percent of soybeans in the United States are treated with neonicotinoids.

I wouldn't be surprised if a combination of several different pesticides is responsible for some of these problems, not necessarily a single pesticide applied on its own. Anyway anyone who champions the impossible burger should be aware that this is the model of agriculture they are supporting.
